Blue Ridge Bank makes $100,000 Donation to Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital Renovation

Kilmarnock, Va., October 27, 2021. Blue Ridge Bank, N.A. (the “Bank”), the national bank subsidiary of Blue Ridge Bankshares, Inc. (NYSE American: BRBS), has proudly pledged $100,000 to Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital’s “Answering the Call” Capital Campaign to renovate and expand the hospital. The renovation and expansion project is an example of the commitment that Bon Secours has to improving access to quality, compassionate health care for residents in the Northern Neck.

“Rappahannock General is an essential service provider in the Northern Neck community,” said Brian K. Plum, President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Ridge Bank.  “Hospitals in rural markets are integral to the health and well-being of residents and to the community’s overall economic viability.  Blue Ridge Bank is proud to be Answering the Call in support of our teammates, clients, and communities in the Northern Neck.  Our history and commitment to the Northern Neck community spans over 90 years, and we are very proud to be a part of this impactful project.”

The Capital Campaign that Blue Ridge Bank is supporting is part of a $15 million project that encompasses over 35,000 square feet, which will most notably include a major overhaul of the emergency department.  With this renovation, Rappahannock General’s emergency department will become the hospital’s main entrance, ensuring that those needing care will be able to quickly connect with help and answers upon entering the facility.  The emergency department will also transform from an eight-bed semi-private unit to a ten-bed unit with private rooms.  The new construction will include a dining area, as well as a main entrance and emergency entrance canopy.

“We are grateful for this generous donation from Blue Ridge Bank as we move forward with our Capital Campaign and the expansion and renovation of Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital,” said Alan Bailey, vice president administrator, Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital.  “It’s because of the support from our community and community partners that we are able to further extend our compassionate ministry in the Northern Neck community.”

Construction is underway and is expected to be completed January 2023.

Blue Ridge Bank operates six branches in the Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula region.
