Chris joined Blue Ridge Bank in late 2018 after 12 years of branch management for Wells Fargo and Atlantic Union Bank. Chris was drawn to community banking for the opportunity to develop deeper client relationships. His focus is to be able to help small businesses often underserved by larger banks. He headed a team of 10 interns/new hires to take care of any business in the area that needed help. Chris found his involvement and leadership of fellow branch staff through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans program, provided by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) through the CARES Act in 2020, both challenging and most rewarding. Many small businesses and non-profits were provided with critical support. In the end, many became customers of the Bank.
